The spiritual tradition of Ifa saved my life! I received a reading in August 2015 and was told to check on my stomach which had an unknown growth on it.

To make a long story very short I found out I had cancer. Throughout my spiritual journey I have been to different spiritual houses and along this journey I have experienced many ups and downs.

The highlight of my path is when I was reintroduced to Iya at Egbe festival in 2017.

I started with Iya as a client and for almost 3 years I maintained my client status until Osun said it was time.

July 2020 I received a reading and my ebo was to receive Osun. I had absolutely no idea how I would come up with the money to circulate for my initiation but Iya ensured me that Osun would provide a way.

Well 5 months later December 2020 I was initiated to Osun. I have been a Iyawo for 6 months and my journey has been amazing. Prior to initiation my husband and I looked for a house for almost 2 months with no luck;

7 days after initiation we found the perfect house. I just got my brand new 2021 car, my spiritual awareness has heightened tremendously.

There have also been some bumps in the road but I am embracing it all.     My testimony is one that I could (and will) write a book about. About 3 years ago, me and my wife, who has actually known Iya over 20 plus years, attended an Egbe festival. It was my first time meeting Iya but my wife knew her through her family association but not the way we have grown to know her.

     Nonetheless, during the Egbe festivities, we were educated about the traditional way of the Ifa practice. Enjoying what we saw, we began coming to get readings. Upon receiving our reading and conducting the necessary sacrifices, our lives began changing. Doors that have been closed began to start slowly opening up. Around July of last year, we were advised that we needed to be initiated to Sango and Osun. We took heed and doors started opening up even wider for us.

       We got initiated in December 2020 within 90 days we seen a windfall of blessings start to fall upon us. First, I received a promotion on my job that I’ve put in for several times and was denied the last 2-years. I was promoted in January 2021. Less than 30-days after being initiated to Sango. Then, we found the perfect house that we end up purchasing in March. We actually found the house while we were in initiation.

       My wife bought a brand new 2021 Toyota in May. This was done in the 5th month of this year. Osun’s number is 5. What a coincidence huh. 🤔

The flip side to the good things that has occurred was that several truths had to be revealed. Orisa don’t deal with lies and untruths. We must be honest and transparent with each other in order to be in this tradition. A lot of people don’t come to Ifa because they are afraid of the skeletons they’ve hid in the back of their closets being revealed. I was one of them. However, in order for an addict to recover from his addiction he/she must first admit that he has an addiction. Once this is done steps can be taken to overcome it.

But if we live in denial only pain and continual suffering will be added to our addiction.

      The Temple of Divinity is a place that allows you to find your true self using the traditional Yoruba way of life. Iya is our god mother. She teaches us to be self-conscious and have faith in Orisa and our ancestors but to also believe in ourselves. To watch what we say because our words manifest into our reality; sometime instantaneously! Baba, our god father is man who has much wisdom and teaches through hands on experience. He recites odu and gives you wisdom to assist you with your own life choices. Together, they give us the ability to grow and develop into who we are destine to be.
